Serving Christ by serving others… Today
Locations and Facility
The Carpenter’s Corner is located at 104 Prince Street, in rooms generously provided by the First Christian Church (Rev. Don Snyder, Pastor) and is adjacent to the church. The rooms are large and have been developed into a commercial quality kitchen, dining area and social gathering rooms. We have strived to make The Carpenter’s Corner warm and inviting, and is just the right size to meet the needs of the growing ministry.
Services
Hot meals are served by participating churches every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Word of our Ministry has been spread, and the number of folks taking advantage of our meals is steadily increasing.
Area Church Participation
Aside from the opportunity to make an impact in feeding the hungry, the most exciting part of this project has been the fact that it is being done through the cooperation of many area churches. Each church participates as they can. Most have agreed to be assigned a day, or days, each month to cook and serve the hot meals. If your church is not participating at this time, we hope that it will join the ever-growing list.
Volunteers
We are looking for anyone who would like to volunteer to “lend a hand” at The Carpenter’s Corner. If you have a food handler’s card, you can help prepare food. Anyone can help with the clean-up duties, or by helping us pick up food from local grocers and stores that donate generously to our food supply.
The Future
With our current volunteer base, we are only able to serve lunches on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at this time. It is our fervent prayer that many more volunteers will step forward and make it possible for us to offer a hot meal each weekday. If you are interested in getting involved, whether it be as a group from a church or as in individual, please contact:
